What Acadian Coast aims to do is really bring the joyful vibe and whimsy of New Orleans to the heart of Houston’s East End. Momentum Indoor Climbing was opened back in 2006 with their first location in Sandy Utah. The idea from the business really came from the founders noticing that there were areas with a lot of interested climbers that didn’t have any sort of indoor climbing facility. This would enable climbers to do what they love while also having it conveniently located and a bit more accessible due to it being in a gym environment. Since then, they have opened up 5 other locations in Utah, Texas, and Washington.

Thai food that is unapologetically Thai and not made “American style” is just what Houston needed and that’s what Street to Kitchen brings to the table. For this week’s #NeighborhoodSpotlight​, join us as we talk to Chef G, Benchawan Jabthong Painter, and Graham Painter, the owners of Street to Kitchen. They started their business in 2020 as a delivery only spot and recently have made the transition over into a brick and mortar location.

Chef G had spent some time in other famous Houston kitchens, more specifically at SaltAir and Theodore Rex, which helped put her name on the culinary map. Eventually though, she wanted to branch out and had always had the thought in her mind that she was going to start a Thai restaurant in Houston that served Thai food the way that it is served back in Thailand. So even with the pandemic weighing most restaurants and businesses down, the Painters were able to open Street to Kitchen and experience wild success from the day they opened.
